We are searching for a senior Product Verification/Quality Assurance Engineer to work on Fluke Networks’ Colorado Springs Enterprise Network Analysis Quality Assurance team which is responsible for ensuring quality and customer satisfaction of our industry leading network test solutions. The ideal candidate must have expertise in a core skill set, including networking, Windows and Linux operating systems and test automation tools, and be driven to ensure the outstanding quality of Fluke Networks suite of products via the establishment and execution of quality assurance practices. This engineer will work with the extended Fluke Networks team to develop test strategies and execute test plans to support development and release of products to the marketplace.
Preferred candidates will have extensive networking experience both with wired and wireless infrastructures, as well as an understanding and appreciation of best practices for product verification and testing, including automated test. Additional responsibilities will include continued development of the test infrastructure. Ideal candidates will possess sound quality assurance skills, including test plan and test case development, execution and quality metrics reporting and tracking. In this role, you will serve as a customer advocate and surrogate, ensuring that our product features and functionality meet customer needs.
Responsibilities:
1. Work in partnership with R&D engineers and serve as a customer advocate for ensuring our network test products and solutions meet customer needs and perform to expectations in complex and real-world scenarios.
2. Perform thorough testing on product components and the whole product from product initiation through release to manufacturing.
3. Analyze product requirements in order to create and implement comprehensive test plans and software test specification documents.
4. Conduct interoperability and performance tests on systems running applications developed by different teams.
5. Leverage knowledge of networking products to serve as an escalation resource for resolving customer support issues.
6. Evaluate and implement test automation for the Fluke Networks suite of products.
7. Identify and document/track defects.
8. Assist the engineering project manager in leading the QA activities for the assigned project or projects. This includes writing test plans, making task assignments and tracking/reporting QA metrics.
9. As needed, provide product training to others in the company to ensure that stake holders are adequately empowered to effectively sell, support, manufacture, etc. through increased product knowledge and application to customer issues.
10. Create and maintain project test beds. Anticipate network infrastructure test equipment needs and works with management to order equipment required early in product development cycle.
11. Hold regular defect assessment and tracking meetings and provide QA insight into identified issues. Manage incident changes identified during meetings
Qualifications
1. Product verification and testing experience, including creating and implementing test plans, writing test specifications, automating tests and conducting performance tests
2. Strong verbal and written communication skills
3. Strong process orientation
4. Experience with and strong operational knowledge of networking technology
5. Experience with and strong operational knowledge of Microsoft Windows OS and applications
6. Experience with and strong operational knowledge of Linux OS
7. Experience working within commercial R&D environment
8. Experience with and strong operational knowledge of VMware virtual machine technology is preferred.
BS in mathematics, physics, engineering, computer science or other technical area is preferred
