Description

A very exciting opportunity has arisen for a Product Development Manager (PSO) to join a fast paced and global telecoms solutions provider, to play a key role in the development and launch of solutions in one of the most dynamic sectors of the market.

Needs a deep understanding of Customer Analytics/Business Intelligence, within the Telecoms sector. Level of experience and seniority required for the PSO to be self sufficient and have industry experience to drive client confidence and promote products developed to enable the Sales functions to promote world class solutions to drive order intake.

Business Perspective: Understanding of how Customer Analytics are used and applied to reduce costs and increase revenue, e.g. Analytics for Marketing and Sales campaigns.

Technical Perspective: Proven experience in development of Applications for the purpose of Analytics from Business Intelligence to Data Warehousing.

Ideal candidate has experience of working within leading Product Vendors and/or Telecoms Operators, in the field of Business Intelligence, Customer Insight,

The objective of the Product Segment Owner are to ensure the profitability of the product by:

· Understanding the vision of the target product market and customer base

· Liaise with the market segment owner (strategy owner) and CTO organization to maintain overall company direction.

· Deliver a concise business case driven product roadmap in conjunction with the Director/Sr. Director of Product

· Deliver customer feature commitments whilst balancing innovation R&D development within the product line.

The Product Segment Owner is responsible for:

· Producing the business case for the product line

· Producing the feature business case for individual requirements for the product line

· Producing the Plan of Record (POR) that is stable & consistent with the strategy, customer needs, financial growth and R&D capacity

· Providing input to the MSO to generate strategic roadmap/vision

· Managing the Product Subject Matter Experts (PSME) to produce detailed feature requirements for the Technical Specification teams/feature specifications for engineering group

· Manage feature churn within their product roadmap and budget allocation

· Recommendation to management on investment decisions and customer commitments per release

· Recommendations on pricing and licensing to maximize value for TekComms and customers

·

· Providing input to the product marketing organisation for internal and external consumption

· Balancing RFx feature requirement requests with current roadmap deliverables

· Monitoring and driving sales initiatives to ensure the product meets its revenue targets

· Assisting in developing and implementing a company-wide go-to-market strategy, working with all departments to execute.

Qualifications

Business and Technical Skills

· Client facing - Understand the product market segment they are responsible in order to make the correct business decision

· Successful in making prudent business decisions on accepting/rejecting feature or enhancement requests for products with large installed base.

· Must be completely aware of feature commitment process and is capable of influencing it.

· PSO will have a holistic systems view of the portfolio, significant technical depth to have meaningful engagement with customers and engineering as well as business acumen to make appropriate roadmap decisions.

• Comprehensive knowledge of product development processes

• Experienced with marketing and product-planning practices

• Capable to assess risk and make appropriate milestone decisions

• Demonstrated experience in multiple complete product cycles
